Julie Ockerby

Julie Ockerby for the most part is an internationally recognized award-winning interior designer, Australian business leader and serial entrepreneur.

With more than 25 years’ experience, Julie has worked with some of the most innovative global designers and hoteliers. Originating her hospitality career as Director of Marketing Australasia, opening the Sydney office for Design Hotels in 1999. Playing a pivotal role in interpreting and rolling out the consumer experience for the portfolio of signature and boutique hotels globally, Julie thereafter became highly sought after for her ability to unlock the marketability of boutique hotels. Julie understands brand identity and the competitive context and market of which independent boutique hotels exists. 

Multi-talented, during the past decade Julie has combined her background as a registered nurse, together with her experience in the hotel industry to transform the senior living industry for the better by pushing the boundaries to achieve better outcomes for our ageing population. Julie’s approach is unique therefore she is seen as a highly regarded leader and sought after speaker  across all sectors and has become a change agent who sets the benchmarks for her peers.

The Boutique Hotel Series is Julie’s homage for her passion for intentionally designed hotels that offers unique and memorable experiences.

Julie is a speaker, moderator, facilitator of memorable conversations and event compère. She holds Bachelor degrees in Nursing, Business and Arts in Interior Design
